Title: Electrical Engineer/Project Engineer

Phoenix metro area company is looking for a Senior level
Electrical Engineer/Project Engineer out of the solar/renewable
energy industry. They are really looking for someone who
has experience working on large scale "turn key"
projects or projects that are for the Utility industry.
They basically need someone to be knowledgeable with how
the Utilities like their drawings, and how to create products
and solutions for those types of jobs.
- At
least three years designing solar electrical systems.
- 10
years working as a systems designer in general.
- BSEE
degree
- PV
experience
Responsibilities
include:
- Provide
pre-sales support to evaluate project feasibility and
develop preliminary designs to support sales efforts
and project bids.

Develop electrical and structural designs for large
scale solar electric systems meeting all national/state/local
codes and customer defined requirements.

Identify, prioritize, schedule project/design initiatives;
drive execution of activities.

Coordinate bill of materials development and supplier
recommendations.

Coordinate and validate required technical documents
(electrical, structural, site plan drawings and related
documents)

Identify, evaluate, and direct the technical activities
of project specific sub-contractors and consultants.

Provide technical input and establish procedures in
development of site permitting and interconnection requirements.

Evaluate project results and performance to implement
internal continuous improvement measures.

Prepare monthly reports and timely written communication
on design/project activities.
The
Sr Project Engineer should have a BS or MS Electrical
Engineering with 10 yrs electrical / system design experience
and a minimum of 3 yrs experience performing solar electric
system design. Experience with Utilities, solar system
installations (commercial roof, ground mount), and permitting
/ interconnection procedures a plus. Also, experience
in construction industry would be an asset. Need strong
organizational skills to manage activities in the design/project
management process. Professional Engineer license is desirable.
Strong written and verbal communication in English is
required, as is a working knowledge of industry codes
and standards (i.e. NEC, UL, UBC). Computer skills: strong
working knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks, MS Office programs.
Occasional travel is necessary to support Sales/Customer
and field visits. A positive, results oriented team player
to work effectively with Customers and internal organizations
(Sales, Design Engineers, Operations) in a group setting
is a must.
